Personal Trainer Matt Lyons, at an early age, represented the county of Kent in athletics and was often found on a Sunday morning pounding through the Kent countryside, come rain or shine, in a cross country event. These experiences and enthusiasm, along with the determination to success, led him to joining the Royal Marines Commando and passing their world-renowned Commando Course and then to work in the fitness industry over the past four years.
Our personal trainers are of the highest calibre and trained by reputable companies recognised worldwide and all are members of the Register of Exercise Professionals (REP's). REP's is a self-regulating body set up to safeguard people using the services of exercise and fitness professionals.
Having worked out for some years, I considered myself to be pretty fit when I started personal training with Matt at Core conditioning. But with his help, I soon discovered that there was a wider range to exercise routines, that I could push myself harder and achieve a much higher level of fitness than ever. Matt has a great ability to encourage self belief and determination during personal training whilst bringing a lot of humour and fun into tough workout sessions. Within the first six weeks of personal training, I lost 7lbs, reduced my overall body fat percentage, and doubled my overall fitness levels. In addition, I have successfully competed in a 5k & 10k race. I am now in training for half a marathon, which without Matt's personal training and encouragement would not have been attainable. Matt has always maintained a professional and reliable service which is essential with a baby around. Personal training with Matt is not just about fitness it's about taking time to develop a positive mental attitude. I look forward to my personal training sessions as much as for physical development as to the effect it has on my performance in my home life - and much to my surprise I really enjoy it! His considerate and confident approach was supported by a clear enthusiasm to research his subject well, passing on to me a level of confidence in my preparation for the running challenges that set him apart from any personal trainer beforehand or since and rightly so.
