Personal Info and Background

Hi, I'm Stephan Konrad and before I got into personal training I used to lead an unhealthy and inactive lifestyle and was not happy how I felt. I changed that through regular exercise and eating sensibly, since then I have never looked back and feel great. Because of this, Feel Alive Fitness was born to help many others to achieve similar goals whilst outlining the benefits of leading healthier lifestyles.

Now, I absolutely enjoy exercising and leading a healthy lifestyle, it's the energy and the feel good about yourself that motivates me. As an Advance Boxercise Instructor I enjoy boxing training, and other activities I like are Cycling, Football, Running, Squash, Rugby, Cricket, In-line Skating, Hiking, you name it.

Training Philosophy

The pursuit of health and fitness can be confusing. It seems there is always a special program or some type of magical equipment that is being touted as the solution to your wellness needs. You start to realise it's not so easy to decipher contradictory information and concludes with confidence which approach is the truth, or what piece of equipment will really improve your personal well-being and work for you.

A television show or infomercial expounds about the latest great new diet, which is surely destined to set up for failure anyone who happens to follow it. A newspaper article reports the latest exercise trend. Then there ss the promise of the four-minute, total body workout. Another promotion attempts to lure you to a program that promises immediate results, with magical new technology that is "research" proven. Will these or any hooks finally give you the success you've dreamed about, send you to the emergency room, or just leave you disappointed and frustr! ated one more time? Quite often, attempts at enticement are driven by a marketing plan that doesn't consider your real needs and best interest. And, regardless of how wacky or unsafe the program or equipment might be, the irony is that it could work for a while. That is, until you get bored, dissatisfied, or injured. Personal fitness training gives you an alternative to this mass market, impersonal approach to your fitness and health.

I, Stephan Konrad at Feel Alive Fitness will provide you with a personal training program that is specifically tailored to your needs, and we'll amend it so that it grows with you as you progress and your needs change down the road. The personal training programs at Feel Alive Fitness are a comprehensive lifestyle plan. Personal training includes instruction in resistance training (dumbbells, tubes, fitball and your own body), flexibility (stretching), nutrition advice (eating sensibly without hopping on the diet bandwagon), cardiovascular conditioning, and boxercise training.

You will learn proper technique and the reasons why each of these areas of fitness is important. You'll cross-train (change activities), and we'll periodise (change how hard you work over specific time periods) your personal training so you'll stay interested, have fun, and keep the results coming. Rather than performing a flurry of mindless activity that gets you little more than sweaty, you'll get a program that provides the maximum return for the goals that you set for yourself. Although I know what I want to accomplish with your personal training program, it would not be complete or as effective unless we also consider your thoughts, feelings, and opinions as we develop our individualised approach for you. Your input is critical in helping us design an ever-changing program that can meet your fitness, health, and nutritional needs. I will give you results that go further than cosmetics.

Sure, you'll look good and obtain a healthy ratio of body fat to lean muscle, which is a key measurement of health, but you'll also get that "Feel Alive" glow that comes from increased energy and a heightened state of overall health. You will become more agile and skilled in the sports which you choose to participate. As you increase your fitness you will reduce your chance of heart disease and be much better equipped to manage stress.

To get these results, I will need your cooperation, enthusiasm, and steady attendance commitment. We must work as a team, giving 100 percent effort. (This doesn't mean going all out during every workout!) Throughout your workouts, be straightforward and forthcoming. Tell me how you feel, voice your concerns, and ask whatever questions you might have. This is your personal training program, and the whole process works much better when you are actively involved.

To become highly fit you should schedule at least two personal training sessions per week. Eventually, you'll progress to doing some type of activity most days of the week. You'll be encouraged to do several of these activity sessions on your own. I'll help plan and schedule these workouts so that it is easy for you to complete them on your own. And, don't worry, I'll never progress you too fast and will always meet you at your pace! After four to six weeks of personal training, if not sooner, you should start seeing some great results. To sharpen the edge you get from efficient training, I will also periodically re-evaluate your program. Constant supervision and adjustment are essential features of responsible fitness training.

In addition to discussing your situation, needs, and preferences, I pledge to work so that these needs and desires are satisfied. That way, you will "Feel Alive" and energised when personal training.

Stephan has really work hard with me this year. Stephan seemingly effortlessly makes personal training sessions fun and enjoyable, whilst also maintaining his awareness of possible health and safety risks, which he is constantly advising on. Stephan remains enthusiastic throughout personal training sessions, and constantly remains supportive and encouraging, whilst making it clear what the benefits to each exercise are. Despite making personal training sessions fun and enjoyable, Stephan is insistent on maintaining correct technique and posture throughout every exercise, this further supports Stephan's concentration on making the personal training sessions safe, effective and injury free, which also increases one's confidence and trust in Stephan as a professional personal trainer. Stephan has been personal training me since late 2006 and I have made considerable progress with his help. I had been working out before I started with Stephan but decided to use a Personal Trainer to boost my motivation at the time. Since working with Stephan I have set different goals along the way. I initially started personal training with Stephan to add quality muscle mass and reduce my body fat over a 5 month period. Whilst personal training with Stephan over this time frame he helped me add 3kg of muscle and reduce by body to 10%. At the moment he is helping me on improving my running style for athletics. As a personal trainer Stephan is a very nice, talkative guy who really seems to care about his clients. I can talk to him about more than just training which is always good. He pushes me hard and seems to know my limits, which is good as sometimes I will not push myself when I know I can go further or lift more weight. He does not let you have it easy just because you want but also is able to tell what you can handle. Stephan is willing to listen to what things you like and don't like exercise wise and will build you a personal training program of what you do like that will still give you good results. Over the time that I have worked with Stephan I have realised that most goals are very attainable but you have to put in the hard work to achieve them.
